Latin-X Heritage Month Resolution

On September 23rd Commissioner Garcia aided in the push for the newly induced National Hispanic Heritage Month or Latin-X Heritage Month resolution. This resolution is meant to acknowledge and appreciate the contributions of the anyone containing even a small portion of lineage from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, And Central and South America. According to the 2020 United States Census it is approximated that 25.6% of the Cook County Population are of Latin-X origin. This resolution goes on to acknowledge the countries that obtained independence such as Belize, Chile, Costa Rica, and many others. Feel free to learn more by reading the full resolution below!
